After the COP29 climate summit, how to be sustainable and save energy has become an important issue. USI exhibits a series of functional coatings in TaiPei Building Show, 2024. Sun-shielding coating can significantly reduce the surface temperature of buildings and reduce the use of air conditioners; waterproof and dirt repellent coatings can also extend the maintenance cycle of buildings. Conforming insulation coating, which was launched this year, which can further help companies save energy on energy-intensive equipment. These are important highlights of the exhibition.

Suffer from water restriction? Try this. Applying sun-shielding coating on a tank can prevent conduction of thermal energy into the tank, resulting in reduced needs of water spray for cooling. The customer reported that they could even reduce water consumption by 80% after having sun-shielding coating. Happy for them. To save water, let’s do our best together.

Sun-Shield Coating

To address the challenges posed by global climate change and rapid atmospheric temperature rise, our product, sun-shielding coating can significantly reflect solar heat mostly. This heat reflective coating, not only solve the heat problem, but also enhance the benefits of corporate social responsibility. The coatings are adopted into two main applications: water-based for buildings, which reduce heat into buildings and reduce electricity consumption. Another is solvent-based for chemical storage tanks or equipment, especially for harsh environments, helping factories effectively mitigate common plights, such as VOC emissions and chemical instability, which are caused by sun exposure. Both types of coatings effectively assist customers in solving heat-related problems.

Low VOCs Coating​​

Aligning with the rising awareness of low carbon footprints and environmental protection, USI not only focus on heat problems, but also design coating with limited solvent usage. The VOCs (volatile organic compounds) content of this coating is significantly lower than GB/T 38597-2020 standard (Technical requirement for low-volatile-organic-compound-content coatings product). Applying low-solvent coatings can help customers benefit from further carbon emission issues and enhance the company's social responsibility.

Storage Stability Improvement​

Sun-Shield Coating​
The following is a case study of a butadiene storage tank. In the summer time, customers always have to cool down the tank (by water spray normally) when the internal temperature exceeds 40°C in order to meet the safety standards for chemical storage stability. After applying Superior Sun-Shielding PU coating, heat can be effectively blocked. It enhances storage safety and reduces occupational safety risks.

Related Products​​

USI provide system designed with zinc-rich epoxy primer and high-solids epoxy intermediate paint to create an all-in-one protective coating system. It offers heat reflection, corrosion resistance, and weathering ability. This system pass the highest level of corrosion protection certification (CX) according to ISO 12944, very suitable to even harsh area.
